Dorota was born in Poland, raised in Chicago, and moved out to California for her undergraduate studies. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California Santa Cruz in 2009 in Marine Biology. Since then, she has been working at the Benthic Ecology Lab at Moss Landing Marine Labs where she sorts critters, dives, and does some invertebrate taxonomy. Last fall she became a graduate student at MLML, and is studying benthic invertebrate communities under the ice using SCINI for her thesis work. This will be Dorota’s first year on the ice. When not being a student or working in the lab, Dorota likes to play fiddle, hike, and be upside down.
