Engineer and SCINI Pilot
Laughlin is a high-desert boy from New Mexico and is working on the SCINI project as an engineer. He holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Environmental Studies. While technically a mechanical engineer, Laughlin is primarily responsible for maintaining the electronic and software aspects of SCINI and her accompanying instruments. Engineering aside, he is excited to further his understanding of the ecological interactions being studied in the Ross Sea. Laughlin can sometimes found working with environmental/social justice organizations or aspiring to climb like the Western Fence Lizards that populated his afternoons as a child.
